Blade compatibility

Post by bdog2 » Thu Feb 22, 2024 11:40 pm

Does anyone have any info what blades are compatible with different models and years? I have a 77 550 with a fixed blade and framework outside the tracks. Would it be possible to convert it to a 6 way blade with c-frame and framework inside the tracks off of a 67 450? Anyone with any insight? Thanks

I am not sure, but I think it is very unlikely.

I agree with Lavoy. I think you would need to sit down with the 6405 Bulldozer blade parts catalog and the 550 parts catalog and compare all mounting and frame parts. Some parts may be the same. I am fairly certain the angling and blade components are different but might work if the C frame and mounts are the same. The 6405 blade is a separate catalog from the 450 catalog where the bulldozers used on the 550 are included in the 550 parts catalog. Could it be made to fit? Depends on fabrication skills, time, and money in most cases.

Here is a link to the online parts catalogs site.
