Hydralic Oil Filter Light

Post by jwalk2c » Tue Feb 27, 2024 1:11 pm

Hello.
After sitting for several months I cranked up my 1997 455G loader and the Hydraulic Oil Filter light wants to keep coming on. It immediately goes off when you move the loader control lever and the loader or bucket is in motion. It's not low on fluid and I changed the fluid and filter about 20 hours ago, probably 2 to 3 years. The loader has less than 1200 hours.
I did not run it but about 15 - 30 minutes so maybe not enough time to warm up the fluid if that could be the problem, but usually the light will only come on once or twice then go off permanently.
Thank you

Sounds like cold oil is triggering the light. If it stops coming on after running a bit, that is likely the cause.

Only running 15 minutes to half hour really is not getting it warmed up enough for it to clear condensation from oils and gearboxes. You might not have many hours on the filter but it may be worthwhile to change it, since you say it has been -3 years since it was changed.
