450c blade problem

Post by altonlee » Wed Apr 08, 2026 1:35 pm

I have a 450 c crawler started having problem with blade lifting slow. Changed filter and oil. Still slow took pump off found no wear. Dozer sat for a couple months with pump off and oil drained. Put it back together and now t o get blade to raise i have to tilt blade high on left side and left side extended. And sometime that does not work.
It seems the up cylinders are hitting something hard when trying to raise.
Or it seems the two lift cylinders are not in raising together.
It really sounds like they are hitting when they get about 4 inches off ground.

Any advice will welcomed.

Don't be surprised if this gets moved to the Late Models Board, that is where threads on 350s, 450s, and newer machines belong.

Do you have the 450C technical manual to trace the hydraulic system with?

Have you done any pressure tests?

Looking back at your earlier posts, it appears your crawler left the factory as a drawbar machine (no blade or loader). Is there a possibility of an undersized or restricted fitting in the system? I know there should not be any quick couplers in the hydraulics but if by chance there are, check for them not being fully seated.
