350B reverser or parts needed

Post by rosco404 » Sat Jul 14, 2007 11:27 pm

I have a 350B dozer ser.#143217T with a bad reverser.I have the reverser dismantled and need the clutch pistons & piston rings to rebuild the unit.I would rather buy a good unit and would like to know what models of 1010 and 350's would fit.The control valve on this reverser has damage from metal fragments from the rings i believe.I just bought the dozer and it's in very good condition otherwise {100% track, rollers sprockets and one idler}.I appreciate the help anyone can offer, thanks.

They will have the clutch facings and plates that work make sure that they are the right thickness and fit the clutch pack right .The shaft seals should be coated with grease when installed. Then run the shaft seals in neutral at an idle for a few minutes before you do drive . This is also a good time to test your transmission oil pressure .I think Deere look for around 150-160 LBS My book shows pressure for 350 Ds only .Digitup.

The relief valve could not operate due to metal particals from broken piston rings, the inner bore of the clutch pistons was badly worn and someone had added shims to one of the valves to increase pressure.I have both a repair & parts manual so i'm prepared to git er done. Thanks for you reply digitup.

Inner bore hear on the clutch sleeve is a sine of lots of use .At this point the extra parts start to add up to $ but replace that part if you can .Digitup.
