Hi All,
I'm looking for a good used final drive for a straight 450 loader. The final is real loose , I guess it blew up at one time, its welded all over, bottom pan is all welded up, right over the drain plug!Prefer NJ,NY,PA area so I can pick it up. Found one at a salvage yard, they want $1500. bucks, seems real steep to me. This machine is for only for around the house and farm work. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I certainly appreciate it . Brian

Re: Looking for 450 final
MacFaddens has the largest tractor salvage-yard in my part of New York (about 150 miles from the NJ line). He has several Deere 450s there - but his prices won't be cheap. http://www.macfaddens.com/ or (518) 284-2090. He also has many 1010s, 2010s, 350s, AC HD3s an 4s, Cletracs, etc. Smiley's also has a yard that's smaller but 50 miles closer to NJ. 518-634-2310. In PA - doesn't hurt to ask Wengers, but I gave up on a few year's back simply due to their prices. I had been buying from them for 30 years. Marshals Equipment - a similar place - has been much better lately (which can also change fast). The truth is - parts are exspensive and everybody knows it. I just bought a cylinder head and a final drive for an AC HD4. Macfaddens wanted $300 for the complete head, Wengers wanted $350 for a stripped head with no valves and springs - and Marshals sold me a complete head for $180. Marshals # is 570-729-7117 or http://www.marshall-machinery.com/home.phpFitter274 wrote:Hi All,

If you happen to catch them when stripping a 450, you might make out. But, a private-buy is usually the best. Next best is finding one down south. Even if shipping is more, the actual price might be a lot less.
