I have a 350B crawler loader with the three cylinder gas engine. The entry distributor assembly is out of it. The base of the distributor and its mounting surface on the block have been marked to allow accurrate reassembly. The problem is, the shaft and drive gear were marked also but the marks were wiped off in the cleaning process. I need some help. It is difficult to see what you are doing when your head is in your butt. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

350B - Head in butt
Well, I'm on pretty unfamiliar ground here having never actually ever made a mistake personally.
Seriously, I'm guessing at the point you find yourself that the only way to get back to where you started is to rotate the engine to top dead center of the compression stroke for the number 1 cylinder and put the distributor back in with the rotor position as shown service manual. I know what that looks like for a 1010 gas but you'll need a little help from one of the guys that have a 350 manual for the rest of the answer.

Butt Head
Thank you both for your help. I have the Tech manual but was not totally understanding what I was reading. Between you guys and a call to the local Deere shop I have the problem under control and have pulled my head out of my butt.
