looking at 450E

Post by jbrown » Thu Jun 05, 2008 2:55 pm

I was looking over a 450E to Buy. It had pedal steering, instead of 4 pedals like the 450C,which is clutch,ls,rs,brake, it had 3 pedals ,clutch and 2 big ls and rs pedals. They were made so if you wanted you could push both at same time.question, the owner said if you push on both steering pedals at same time machine will not stop unless you push in clutch also.I would of thought ,not having the 3rd brake pedal this did not seem correct.I thought you needed an emergency stop. 2nd when I was in 1st gear high range once in a while it would stop when pushing on heavy load.I would think it should stall or spin the tracks. He said I was not engaging it correctly.I back up put it in 1st then high range drove forward 2 feet and hit the pile.So I would say I was engaging ok.Also Oil pressure seemed to stay in the idle area until I reved it up'then it would go to about 40lbs. Any body have any thoughts?
