Hi this Craig Tull a newbie to this list, I am going through the right side brakes and steering clutch and notice the manual references a JD tool with respect to the clutch finger height adjustment, can someone tell me what that height should be and how to measure it without the JD tool, I am sure this has been covered before but I can not figure out how to search the forum. Also the specs are not real clear about the clutch (fiber) plate service limit It states "clutch composition facings (thickness of new plates) 0.1750 to 0.1810 in" notice they did not put any of the measurements in brackets. if this states the min service limit as they wrote it I would expect to see something like 0.1750 to (0.1810) in, closing in the "new" thickness as they did in the description. Thanks in advance
Craig

JD #7 tool
I'll try to explain it picture a letter E laying down. 3- 1/8 inches high x 11- 1/4 inches long. The first leg 1-1/2" wide, The center leg 7/8" wide, and the last leg 3/4" wide The middle point, or leg only extends out 9/16 of a inch. Or if you draw a straight line between the two out side legs, the distance is 15/16" up to the end you need to use. I drew it out on cardboard, cut it out and then drew / cut it out of 1/8" steel. One fibre between brake drum and ext snap ring on hub, got my 350 back together and track is pulling again dirtguy34
