New Gut with Model and Fuel Filter Questions

Post by pmblakita » Tue Apr 21, 2009 1:50 pm

Greetings all. I bought a JD 350 about 8 years ago to clear, grub and grade a lot we bought for our new log home. Except for having to have the injector pump rebuilt within 5 running hours of buying the machine, it has run beautifully since. My question are;
1 The guy I bought the machine from said it was a 350, with no letter suffix, and he said it was an early 70's. He had removed the data plate but had written a serial # 13XXX1. I can't read the X's. Is this likely a 1972 350B? What obvious differences are there between a 350 and a 350B? It does have dry clutches and no power assist steering. It does have the 6 way hydraulic blade.
2 Is there a replacement fuel filter assembly to update the glass bottomed cartridge type filters with a spin on type on the 152 c.i. 3 cyl. diesel engine?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Straight 350 has the reverser on the dash, B model is by the LH armrest.
I think NAPA has fuel filter conversions available as well as other aftermarket suppliers. I think someone on here talked about this in the past.
