logging arch/3-point hitch
logging arch/3-point hitch
I am considering selling an almost never used 3-point hitch system off my JD350B. I am also in the process of installing an ROPS on this less than 1300 original hrs machine.
Question: Can an appropriate JD logging arch be installed on this machine? Does it fit in the same four holes that each rear arm of the ROPS fits into...on the back of this dozer?
Thanking you,
Jim

Jim I would figure that 3 point hitch would be a great addition .I think but could be wrong that ROPS and log arch had different bolt on spots .A firm in Kitchener had problems with a bar was welded to the mounts and had to clean up the mounts for only holding the ROPS .The mounts are separate on a 450 series any way.The log arch is held on by several of the winch bolts with winch being between arch and frame there were two or three different arch mounts .Jim I was told lately that under the new Ontario labor laws .Only the rightful owner of the machine can operate it with out a ROPS in Ontario any more .You can't hire, offer, lend or rent the machine in any way unless you have a certified roll bar installed .Hell so much for a free country !!.Digitup.

The ROPS I have is the standard type that is fastened onto two rear yellow upright arms...and these arms are fastened to the dozer through 4 bolts; bottom rear of machine; each side. In other words, it is not the ROPS you have shown for the pictured 350.
Thanking you,
Jim

There are at least three different mountings for the 350 log arch .I think it depended on when you got the arch and the way it was hooked to the crawler. Deere used several manufacturers for the arch unit even more will show up as owner operator hookups but Deere tried to use the rubber mounts for the roll bar if they could trying to take the rattle out of the roll bar if possible in the late seventy's .they tried hard to keep the fore and aft rubbers to flip the roll bar off to the back keeping this a one man job to take it off and install it after the job was done .Digitup.
