I would imagine a 350 or 450? Which is the better machine (I realize this is a JD site.) And why? Thanks for your help!

A Deere 450 crawler loader with a turbo is much more machine than any 350 crawler loader. Night and day difference. Main thing is, with a turbo 450 you can charge into a pile of fill, spin the tracks and lift a full front bucket - all at the same time.

To compare to a Cat 933, a 450 is close. Cat is around 9 tons and 70 horse, and the 450 is 8 1/2 tons and 70 horse.

A 350 crawler loader is around 6 tons and 40 horse.
