555 Hydraulic return line filter

Post by wjptcs » Tue Aug 04, 2009 4:01 pm

My manual shows that my hydraulic return line filter is under the right side reservoir cover. However there is no trace that there was ever a filter in this location.

Is there another location that these filters were placed. I have looked through several versions of the manuals 555 and 555A and cannot locate the filter anywhere.

Update.

I noticed that my fill cap for the hydraulic fluid was on a plate that had 6 bolts holding it down and a spring loaded valve. Just for the heck of it I pulled those 6 bolts out and there was the filter attached directly to the underside of the fill cap. The plate and filter slide up and out of the tank as a single unit. There is a tube running up into it as well that must be the return line for the oil.

So far no 555 manual I have found, even has a picture that is close to what my hydraulic oil filter and filler cap setup looks like. Hope this info helps someone else out someday.

That sounds like it is the same as the 450.
