450c transmission temp guage and sender

Is there anywhere that I can get a trans temp gauge for the 450c that will work with the original sender that is cheaper than the john deere replacement guage. If not can I just get a sender and guage kit from the auto parts store and use it. Im not quite sure what temps these transmission are suppose to run the original guage has doesnt have temps on it just colors. Any help would be appreciated thanks. anybody
