Has anyone used alternative fuels for some of the older machines (350B)? I've got about 150 gallons of vegitable oil that I was considering mixing with some diesel.
What are ya'lls thoughts?

I run B20 in mine. The first 2 tanks were a pain, 20 years of gunk in the tank was released and went thru 2 fuel filters in 2 weeks. I did notice that now the top gasket on the injector pump now has a drip, not sure if it's from the Bio or just a worn out gasket. I noticed no power loss and less smoke.

alternative fuels
STOP!
i would find someone that is already refining the veggie oil, trade it to them for some clean bio.
i wouldn't put straight veggie oil in,,,for several big reasons.
or, after cost analysis, refine your own,
its fairly simple but not cost effective for the average joe, jimbob, sally.
and caution is needed when introducing biofuel to a diesel system,, because bio acts like a grease cutter, it puts all the existing crud right to your filter within the first 2 tankfuls,,,
there's several related posts on this site,, find them, the indepth information is great.
