350B clutches - The final chapter I hope...

Post by Rick Kr » Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:15 pm

Hopefully this is the final update, at least on this part of my dozer.

First, thanks to all of you who were right on guessing moisture before I even popped the inspection covers, and those who sent pics, and even sent me your phone number in case I got stuck.

I drained the right clutch housing, which I could see water, when looking down the inspection cover. Drain plug came out no problem. Took three nights of heating it with a hair dryer to get all the ice out. Temps didnt hit 40 like they were suppose to.

Left side there was no plug in. Interesting, in the left side there was very little moisture.

I have driven it and can feel the right side steering coming back, so I think this may have fixed it.

Now the big question... If I stay out of the heavy mud and water should I leave the plugs out? What about pushing snow?

Thanks,
Rick

Push all the snow you want but If there is a remote chance you are going into water any depth then get the plugs in before you drive in .Digitup.
