Hi,
What'd it do? Throw a track in the bottom of the hole?
What's a 550J(unk) worth in current scrap dollars, anyway?
Maybe one would look good as a gate marker at the end of my driveway!
Later!

YA today it's 550J unk all right the computer is rejecting it's wiring harness again and Maw Deere has no fix for it .Twice it has done this and a new harness isn't the answer either .This unit's down time is severe something around 400 hours at this point .Last time it was a wire to a sensor and the computer didn't figure it out .So I keep a full harness and all sensors in stock but the rocket scientist of a repair man didn't change anything but the main harness and play with it all day at 118 bucks an hour !!!! .Digitup.

i found the grease fittings , diddnt know what they where. they call them button heads , new to me.
Button fittings are the true high pressure fittings now get a button fitting adapter for a grease gun I like a flex hose and button fitting on a leaver action as when you are hooked to a button fitting you won't pop off like a Zerk fitting and a leaver gun with flex hose works nice for that application .Digitup.
We are trying a new 650J, it too has quality control issues. The relays that power the blade ECU fell out, then .The hydraulic pump has exploded twice. First time Deere said the releif valve wasnt set right. the second time he changed the entire control valve. then the oil cooler started leaking Luckily Deere bought that 650 back and is sending us another new one. I wonder what happens with our old one?
A 650J you say heck they will probably ship it up to Cambridge Ontario and try selling the dam thing to me !!I cant complain about my other two 550Js they have had no down time with 5500 and 4900 hours but when the other two cover for it it pisses me off I payed good money for that lemon and am not impressed .I fixed at around 4000 hours it shows 5750 right now and I fixed it last time not Deere that pisses me off even more!!.Deere whines about what it has cost them to fix it last time and Grimsby [Canadian head office] got told they have till Thursday to get it going .That is three weeks and I have to do something .It 's to rain all week and that might drag repairs out enough to save things That operator is working on a Drainage crew. The hydraulic pumps are noisy on the new J's have they changed any thing in the build Our D5G Cats are having some small issues the latest one was on the latest track chain recall I got new chains new front idlers and new sprockets out of that deal .Digitup.
