if you can find jdemaris link to where he stores his pictures, he has some exploded views...i can't find them right now

there's someone on here that posted about DO NOT take it apart according to the manual......i'm pretty sure it has you take it apart from the end opposite the engine side (where your lines come out and go to the injectors) if you do this is when you loose time in the injector....

you must start by removing the top cover (which is where the solenoid is located).......

i'd order a seal kit and a solenoid for it and put only the solenoid and the top oring seal in it.....even though your's looks wet enough that it could use the rest of the seal kit.....

it REALLY isn't that bad to do......once you've had one all apart, you aren't scared of them any more.......but, before you start, you think you should call NASA for help........

i'm rambling but i can't really type a lot right now...

Hey Flathead. You guys are getting closer, but still a ways to go. I'm in western Washington. 40 miles north of Seattle. Any documentation you could show me would be much appreciated. I've been going to the links you provided and seeing some good stuff. Thanks. I have seen jdemaris's pictures. I don't remember seeing my particular pump model, but also good info. Thanks Matt

I have not done this in years - but as I remember it you could just take cover off with pump on engine , a few screws -

I'm sorry I didn't get back to your sooner. Life threw me a curve ball that I would have never expected, so my priorities aren't the same.

I looked on my CPU here at home. I don't seem to have the .PDF file of for the pump. It must be at work. Send me your email address and I'll try to send it to you. Will your email account hold a 50 megabyte file? I think it's really about 40 megabytes, but I sure don't remember.......

My factory JD service manuals has a good pic of the solenoid in it. If I have to, I can take a photo of it and post it up.

It's easy, just take that top cover off and there it is. I think it's just 4 bolts. Nothing should jump out at you or go flying across the room! ahahaha

Injector pumps, for the most part, are usually for rocket scientist. Most people's first response, is "...you just have to send it off, no one can fix them." And, many can't/wouldn't etc. but after many of the folks here and other sites, the parts, at least for mine, was VERY fixable and wasn't too bad of a job to boot.

i tried 3 different email accounts; gmail, roadrunner and yahoo...... the file is like 26.8 meg.....the all have limits of 25....i can't split the file, as far as i know....

it would be much slower, but i could just print the section you need and mail it to you....i owe it to the karma bank, other people have done this for me over the years of reading on the internet...

Flathead,

you could upload a file that size to a file sharing site like photobucket.com
then link it to the forum here

Hi Flathead. I appreciated your effort. I still haven't made any attempt to dismantle anything. Is there a way that you could copy and paste the pages that i would need into an email or if I sent you a CD disk, could you put the pdf file on it an return it to me? Thanks again. Matt

There is also a free program called Drop Box that you can set up to share files. I use it every day for work and home as well as sharing files between employees.

Hey flathead. Hope things are going ok for you. I was wondering if you were able to get that pdf file working. Still haven't done anything with my 450. It's been raining so much that I'm not inclined to go outside and work on it yet. Thanks again for everyones help. I'll post with some pics when I get around to working on the shut off solenoid. Matt
