Power steering on a 450 loader

Ok I got a 450a loader, that I am putting another motor in the old one was shot. However new motor does not have power steering pump hole in timing chain cover. Not to mention that the power steering pump is filled with dirt dobber nests and probably dont work..... So will machine perform without this??? Or is it a vital part of steering, tried to understand it in service manual but it just tells you how to repair, I just wanna know if I can do without it. Thanks for any help.
