450 starter trouble

I have a 450A with a 4039 motor in it. It seems when the motor gets warm that the starter seems to stop working...... It will click but not turn over... Go to it cold and it will fire right off.... Does this sound like the selonoid or any thoughts from you guys... And what size wire should be feeding the seloniod it looks like #14 could that be to small I replaced the wire to the battery with a new # 2 wire.......Thanks for any help.
