JD 350B Steering Clutch Replacement Estimate
JD 350B Steering Clutch Replacement Estimate
What is a reasonable time estimate to replace a steering clutch on a 350B? One side only. Thanks!

Thanks guys. I have a heavy equipment shop lined up to do the work and we are trying to determine what is a reasonable time estimate. The shop is willing to charge based on actual time estimates experienced by others working on the 350. It sounds like we are talking a full day of shop time. They have no experience working on this particular unit. Appreciate your help on this! Cheers!

Just getting the assembly out takes a lot of time. Need to remove the seat, entire fuel tank/hydraulic reservoir assembly (meaning you need to disconnect all fuel and hydraulic lines), etc. If all that is done in the shop and you simply drive it in, that would be great. I used a backhoe to remove that stuff, after breaking the tracks on the side that has to be removed. Then took the unit in to Pape Machinery and they did the rebuild for about $450 US including parts. Did not replace throwout bearing, just the clutch pack and pressure plate.GlennP wrote:Thanks guys.
