93A Repair Kit

Post by bonker81 » Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:26 pm

I was going to rebuild the outrigger cylinders on my 93A but I see uncle Deere wants $141 for a rebuild kit each?!?! that seems obscene. What am I missing that they can get away charging that for the kit. Is there some special material or component?

Lavoy, do you carry these? Any where else to find them? I figured rebuilding a cylinder would cost $20-$30 per cylinder.

I can't speak to this specific kit, but Deere's prices can be substantially higher than other aftermarket sources for the identical part. It's the price for being "green"

Suggest trying brokentractor.com, although I have not checked for your specific rebuild kits myself. I got rebuild kits for the blade cylinders for my 450C. Brokentractor charged $45 per kit, JD charges $170 -- and they were embarrassed to tell me that high price (they probably don't sell a lot at that price).

Would the local hydraulic shop carry the components? Is there something special about "Deere" cylinders?

Local hyd shop should have everything you need on hand, or easily available. I can check here, but not likely any cheaper.

I ended up using Fox Prints out of Maine. Good service, great price, good on the phone.
