350c Trans or reverser problem...
Shifting from reverse to forward, the motor died instantly as if in two gears at the same time. Put reverser in neutral and it started but dozer started backing up. I pushed in on the foot clutch but it still pulled in reverse. Only way to stop it with motor running was to pull both cutting clutches. Shifting main trans into reverse to go forward got it back on the trailer but its banging hard. Anyone got an idea of what my problem might be? Thanks...

350c. The reverser works in reverse but there is a heck of a noise coming from the trans or the reverser. Sounds like something has come loose and is banging and thumping like crazy. Regardless of gear selection, when you put the reverser in neutral, it still pulls in reverse. If you put the reverser in forward, it stalls the engine. Foot clutch does nothing as far as disengaging.

I don't know for sure, but it sounds a lot like the "infamous" isolator issue:Cuzz wrote:350c. The reverser works in reverse but there is a heck of a noise coming from the trans or the reverser. Sounds like something has come loose and is banging and thumping like crazy.

I was thinking the same thing until he said it only stalls in forward. If the isolater was jammed up it would stall the engine no matter what speed or direction the reverser or trans is in . Also the isolater cant lock the reverser into reverse. When the isolaters go they either lock the motor up or not transmit any power past the engine.
