Troubleshoot air in Fuel filter

Have a 03, 550H with air in primary fuel filter. It is a new filter, but when you open the bleed screw and pump the top of the filter to get the fuel into the filter, I keep getting a lot of air with fuel, even after the engine in cranked and shut down I can pump air and fuel out. Tank is clean, fresh diesel, and screen in tank in clean. Any suggestions? Thanks

An other place to check is the fuel pump and see if it has a hole in the diaphragm .You may even have fuel going to the crank case if that pump leaks so watch for over fill on the dipstick .That is the next place I would check .Digitup.
