350D radiator leaking

Post by skeetertom » Tue Mar 15, 2011 4:55 pm

Just got a 350D and it has a leak from the radiator. What is involved in removing this radiator? Took a quick look before dark but was not sure how much needs to come apart. Thanks for any help

the hood and front shroud has to come off. You will need an engine hoist for the front shroud.

Thanks I got it fixed for $80, tank was worn thru from a loose shroud. All back together and no leaks. Job went well with two of us and a mini excavator to lift the shroud.

The front shroud actually pivots on two pins at the bottom. You need to remove 3 bolts down low on each side (5/8 or 3/4 if I remember correctly) and then 4 or 5 bolts underneath that connect to the belly pan. With those out it will pivot forward out of your way and stay there safely. I did this when I pulled my radiator, no need to completely remove it. After that, as long as nothing is too rusted up, it comes out easy.
