350 Crawler undercarriage
350 Crawler undercarriage
I currently own a 1970 JD 350 Crawler that needs work on the adjusters, track, along with other undercarriage items. I have come across a late 1960's JD 1010 dozer for sale. Does anyone know if the undercarrige parts are interchangable between the two? Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Hi TruckerP-
In addition to the tings Lavoy mentioned, here is a thread with a helpful cross reference table:
http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/ ... ross+table
As you can see, the number of links between the 1010 and 350 are the same but the size of the pins/bushings are different (350 is larger, like late 2010). I also thought the adjusters may be different since they differ between the early and late 2010s, but Lavoy knows best.

If you were to use 1010 sprockets on the 350 the parts won't go across? If the pitch is the same and and pin/bushing diameter is different, sprockets are the only problem or am I missing something?
1010 and 350 sprockets are completely different dish and bolt pattern, absolutely no interchangeability without some sort of modification.
1010 chain will fit on the 350, most likely you will start breaking links in a short hurry, much more so if it is a loader.
I guess part of my point is why buy a complete crawler of a different model. If the parts on that crawler are that good, then the value of that crawler is probably about the same as what it would cost you to put the right parts on the crawler you have.

undercarriage
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I have a parts 1010 with a good undercarriage and I am considering buying a undercarriage "challenged" 350b and I thought I could swap the undercarriage as the author of this post asked. I knew I would have to "change/modify" the sprockets but that I thought that was it. Based on your notes I will think twice before I consider the endeavor. Thanks
I ordered rebuild kit for the adjuster on my 350 simple job it works nice . to my suprise . I said easy well except for one side where I had to put it in a vice and heat the adjuster an pump grease it would only jump out 1/4 inch and I let it set an come back again that went on all day an night. My labor is cheaper then a new adjuster.
