crawlers on concrete and ashphalt

Post by philztoy » Sat Apr 09, 2011 5:49 am

I pulled my 450C crawler backhoe into my pole barn for storage and I already cracked some corners on my concrete and chewed up the ashphalt where I transitioned from turf to ashphalt.

The ashphalt and concrete are both good quality at least 4" thick so I thought I would be ok.

I think I might get some long 2x12's and maybe plywood to put under when I store the machine.

Does anybody else have a better way of dsitributing the weight and saving the concrete. I dont really have a straight shot in so I need to get it on the ashphalt and turn it to get it in a direction for a straight shot into the pole barn.

Let me know your ideas if you would.

Thanks
Phil

Any road construction ,cement plant. You could have mine since its been rolled up for 20 years. I don,t know of any other use for it.

I have a couple of pieces of old 1/2 inch OSB plywood. Works great. I get the dozer lined up as straight as I can before I hit the concrete, otherwise you have to jump of the dozer and adjust the plywood if you try steering on the pieces.
