That is the one that is listed in the 450B manual
OK what do they look like .Lets see what a 268 looks like then we will have a good idea .My uncle had the set of three and I went to his auction for them my cousins threw them out several weeks earlier.I had asked my Aunt about them earlier and she said every thing would be in the auction .I know there were three on a 8 inch loop ball chain .Digitup.

I believe the JD266 was for the 350s. The JD267 covered the 40, 420, 430, 440IC, 440ICD, 1010, and 2010. The JD268A was for the 450s. All are discontinued, according to the 1986-1987 JD service tools catalog.
The gauges are now in undercarriage inspection kits (JT05518 and JT05523) according to that catalog and maybe a different number(s) now, however they only check the sprocket wear. The sprocket wear gauge set in those kits is JT05525 and includes JT 05526, JT05527, and JT05528. Most wear items the old gauges took direct checks of, now have to be physically measured with other tools in the service inspection kits.

Re: John Deere track wear gauge
Thanks Jim, I saw a JD266 on Fleabay and it looked just like a JD268, then it got me curious as to what machine it was associated with. Although my undercarriage is new on the 450, it would be nice to have a gauge for the future but kinda like you said, all the measurements are in the back of the section so I just use other tools to take the measurement. Not to mention I'll likely never never make it to another undercarriage replacement as a homesteader but who knows lol.

Re: John Deere track wear gauge
If you know what the measurements are supposed to be, you could probably make the gauge?
Re: John Deere track wear gauge
The only one that really needs to be a gauge is the sprocket cup profile. One could copy the profile of a new sprocket cup and cut one out to match thatand it would give an idea of wear.
