Need all the Advice I can get.

Post by Sandy Gautreau » Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:25 pm

looking at a 67' 450 loader with a 4 in 1 bucket. Need all the advice I can get on what to look for. The machine worked fine with the owner, however this will be my first crawler. Any tips and advice??

Thanks,
Sandy

Sandy, Ken's advice is good. I would also first read up on this bulletin board about 450s and the common problems encountered so you can be a little more informed when you discuss with a mechanic and/or the owner.

Here is my advice to people that are new to crawlers, because not long ago I was one of them. Even though not necessarily specific to straight 450s, I think this will really help make sure you are looking at the right machine for You.

There are a lot of good responses to posts from others that are new to 450s- just need to do a little searching. Here is one example of an informative post on the 450 but there are others on this site:

The search function is at the top right corner of this page; you'll be able to find all you want to know about them and more :)
