brazing leaking reverser cooler line

Post by dozingdozer » Thu May 05, 2011 11:12 am

hi guys, i have a slow leak on a reverser cooler return line right where the lines are held down by a bolt by the firewall over the reverser housing. i have some compression fittings to repair this leak, but that will push line significantly out of alignment. i was thinking of just removing line, cleaning it well and brazing small leak. you guys have any thoughts on this approach? the line is low pressure. thanks , DD

I have brazed a hydraulic line on a JD ag tractor and for a larger wear hole on my 450, I brazed the line and took a short 1/2 section of another piece of line and brazed it on top of the patch. Both methods worked well.
