Hi:
Check for other thoughts too, but I've had luck running a bead of weld around the worn out race. When the weld cools and shrinks, the race pops right out. Watch for splatter; some fiberglass insulation might solve that concern.

cup removal
HI Ken I have a slide hammer with the inverted leg bearing puller and it looks like you would have to grind to much off of the legs to get behind the cup with the shaft in the way. Since your trans is full of powdered bearing anyway I Would grind a slot in one side of the cup with a die grinder or dremmel tool.It might cost you a few of the small cylindrical stone bits but they are cheap.I would also stuff a wet shop towel behind the cup to keep the abrasive powder out the trans. Once you grind threw 90% of the cup it will pop out with the help of a small heel bar -Tom
ps:
My slide hammer has a hooked tool for removing pilot bearings. It would work great for you. I can send you a picture, but I doubt you want to spend the bucks on a high end slide hammer.

I don't know much about the 350's but I did some transmission work yesterday on my 440. I posted it in show and tell. To remove cups I had to remove pretty much everything. Then I can drive cups out with a 1/2 round steel bar and a good hammer from inside the case. If you have a bad bearing there it could have damaged most of them because all these components are related to each other. Being there, I would replace all of them. You would not want to go there soon .

Oh now I see. This is not an easy one. My crawler has been apart for a while allowing me to access everything. I missed some steps... I understand you want to minimize dissassembling. Could an Hammer puller be right? With a small 90 deg angle leg at the end. Then pull it a bit on each side alternately.
