trany rebuild

im having to replace my second gear and will have to tear down everything to pull the output shaft and ring gear , will it be ok to just put it all back together and not check for shimm tolerences or take the time and check them all.

If you are that far in, I would recommend replacing the bearings while you are in there. What if one of them was about ready to have a bad roller or something? A new set of bearings is real cheap insurance compared to broken pieces later due to a bad bearing.

are talking about the ring bearings or all of them .

Check shafts for grooving where the seals run too, not always a big deal, but sometimes they get grooved or corroded. Wash the case out really well so no shavings, filings and such remain.

It's kind of like a trany build on my truck , make sure everything is clean and replace everything. It's safe insurance.
