I want to change the antifreeze in my 82 450c to the new extended cool gard II.Do I need to drain the block? And if I need to where are the freeze plugs located. The antifreeze in the machine is heavy duty diesel engine antifreeze now.
It has an coolant tank heater. I thought maybe by taking the hose loose on the block that would do the job.
I want to thankyou guys for all the usefull information you supplied to me in the past
Thanks!

The proper way to get all coolant is to flush the system with tap water then refill with coolant and water Most of the Deere blocks have a 1/8th npt plug low in the water jacket that will get most out Don't go poping out frost plugs for this job it may get a bit complicated .Digitup.

That may be technically correct, but I guarantee you that if you went to a parts store and asked for a core plug, they will look at you like you are purple. The commonly accepted names are freeze, frost, or expansion plugs.

that is true but a few PARTS MEN would know what your asking for its just that people get the idea that they are in there to protect a block from cracking from freezing NOT
