350c vs 400g....Just what is the difference?

Post by Cuzz » Sun Aug 21, 2011 5:42 pm

I've been trying to justify fixing my 350c dozer for over a year now and just when I thought I was ready to get started on it, I found a 400g that has caught my eye. How does the 400g stack up against the 350c?
Thanks,
Cuzz...

My wife says I never listen to her.... or something.

I only know a little bit of it, may not be correct.
400 uses 4 cylinder, turbo I think, and the 450 style transmission. From what I remember, still uses 350 undercarriage. Always wanted one after I saw one many years ago.

I also think the 400s use the 350Cs steering clutches and pistons in addition to the undercarriage, but has a high-low transmission with the 4 cylinder from the 450s. Kinda like a 450/350 hybrid.

I don't think they used the same cubic inch as the 450, but can't swear to that either.

Specs

Post by JWB Contracting » Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:39 pm

John Deere has the complete specs on their website.

Check out http://www.deere.com/wps/dcom/en_US/pro ... ozers.page?

Engine a 4239 natural putting out 63 horse.

Would love to have one of these in a widepad or even a 24" pad long track.

Youre right Lavoy, 450s used the 202 219 and skipped the 239 and went to the 276/4.5L. Learn something new every day. There is also more specs/info at http://murphyused.com/images/specs/102.pdf
