360c final drive housing

Post by BSims66173 » Sat Sep 03, 2011 12:03 pm

Looking for a 350c final drive housing. If anyone has one please let me know. I do not know the year or serial number on this crawler. The inner shoulder that the race fits against has broken out. Could this fit be machined out and a sleeve with a shoulder be pressed in? I know it would have to be recessed on the outer edge with a shoulder on the sleeve

Which side housing are you looking for? Ive seen a couple housings fixed with sleeves, if done right it should work. Housings are harder than hens teeth to find.

Left hand side sitting in the seat. I believe they are interchangable with either side. I am going to try some kind of fix. I have several ideas. May just cut a groove and put some type of lock ring for the race to seat against. I have the machines to make the repairs, just need to decide which direction to go. Need to take some measurements to make sure the fit is not out of round. It doesnt look to bad just eyeing it. Thanks for your reply.

I believe after a certain s/n they are same side to side. They also changed from a snap ring retaining the ring gear to a spacer under the nut. The early housings have the holes drilled for the brake anchor so that they can only go on 1 side.

I was thinking instead of using a sleeve for the repair, just using an over-sized bearing. I can machine the fit to match the oversized race. The seat would be about 3/16 wide. I am not sure how wide the original seat was but I think 3/16 should be ok.
