replacing steering clutches on 450b

What is the best type of replacement clutches and where is the best place to buy them?

There are only two types that I know of, regular and metallic. Metallic is a substantial price increase.
As to best place, being the owner of this site, I would say me, but then again I am predjudiced I suppose. :lol:

Ihavent had much time to get on here but i do learn something everytime ido. Now for my question, do I need any special tools to replace the

steering clutches on my 450b

As for special tools, you will need the clutch adjustment tool to make sure that you have proper height for the fingers on the pressure plate. Lavoy ssells that tool as well.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

Yes I need to rebuild the clutches on my 450b also. Just don't know where or how to start first.
