Measuring sprockets

Post by 18vtx00 » Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:33 am

my 350B has between 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" or space at the top of the teeth. is there a spec for this? Seems too wide than the pins that are only 1.70"

Not sure about the specs, but if the sprocket teeth are worn to a sharp point they need replacement.

There are specification drawings but Deere generally doesn't release them. However it wouldn't be hard to find someone with a new sprocket since they are more common than for crawlers like my 2010.

The pockets between sprocket teeth are not supposed to be a tight fit- the indication of wear is primarily from condition of the teeth. Sharp teeth are an indication of high wear as Steve indicated.

They are not sharp at all, they are almost flat at the tips of the teeth and about 1/4"- 3/8" wide. They were said to have been replaced w/ chains about 400hrs ago. They tried to derail on me a few times and the chains are in specs. Just thought the sprockets were not replaced and I should change them out now w/ the rollers and idler bearings that are bad.
