350b final drive installation

Post by skip43783 » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:57 am

Lavoy.....I am having a terrible time installing the final drive. (left side).Backing out the brake adjustment bolt all the way, i am finding that with the new brake band, the drum does not want to go into the new band.Any thoughts on this??

also....with the driveshaft installed in the final, how the heck is there room to fit the tranny end into the quill? I dont want to have to take off the frame rail...

this is giving me fits....

Many times the problem with the brake band is the two ends kind of straighten out instead of continuing in a circle. I often bend the ends of the band down slightly, and that usually does it.
You have to rotate the final not quite 90 degrees to get axle shaft to clear the back of the track frame.
