I have a straight 350 that I am trying to get the left steering lined out on. I have adjusted the clutches and brake per the manual. When I drive the dozer forward and pull on left stick it will slowly start to turn. When I drive in reverse and pull the left stick the track locks up and it turns on a dime. Is there something I am missing? I would think the performance in reverse would be the same in forward. Any ideas are appreciated this site has help me alot
Thanks to everyone
350 Left Reverse
To add to what KenP stated, when you get the more sweeping turns in forward, you are likely seeing the steering clutch disenagaging but not fully engaging the brake band.
When properly adjusted, a shorter pull on the steering clutch lever disengages the steering clutch and a longer pull disengages the clutch AND actuates the brake band on that side, resulting in a sharper turn.
