Thumb for backhoe on JD350B and other help.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and extremely interested in buying a JD Crawler, but have a lot to learn before I do.
Can a hydraulic thumb be installed on a JD 350B backhoe without major modifications? What would the estimated cost be?
Are there any publications/sites that have info/lists on what to look for when buying a used machine?
