350 Parts

Post by JWB Contracting » Fri Oct 28, 2011 2:29 pm

Hi,

Did you get your axle issue solved yet?

I will have an wide pad axle assembly available in the next few months and do have the sproket guards in stock. May have the rock guards as well.

Most likely will have to be a christmas care package if you are still interested!!

No I don't have the gear situation under control yet. I'm looking for the parts, I know you said you'd have them in december but I never got a cost on them from you. I've talked w/ a couple of machine shops and waiting on a estimate of making a different gear style. I've also looked at a used machine that the guy is parting out, waiting on a call back from him. Let me know in the cost please!

Pricing

Post by JWB Contracting » Fri Oct 28, 2011 4:34 pm

If I even mention selling parts at the moment my dad will freak out. He is 65 and is trying to wind up his last season doing utility construction. Should have an answer back in a few weeks for you.

Now, as much as it would be nice to sell you some parts..

What usually wears out is the square drive portions (male and female) plus the splined drive coupler block. We usually get our local machine shop to fix the square drive portions and then we use 15 minuite cure devcon putty the assembly splined portion just before reinstalling it on the crawler. It hardens and fixes the problem with the splines between the axle shaft and small square drive couple block. We have done this repair many times when the large square drive portions fail and have only had the spline portion re-strip on very few instances.

We are running wide pad loaders with angle dozers on them with 9550 hoes on the back, so fairly extreme use for a 350C and we have had them in service since about 1980. Just passing on our experience with fixing them on the cheap. If this doesn't solve your problem, contact me a 3 or 4 weeks and I will put some package pricing together for you.
