There is also a measurement you can perform and compare to book values to determine percentage of internal pin wear (not to be confused with percentage of overall undercarriage wear).

Thanks for all the great information guys.

The front idler is all the way to the front of the rail so I guess that means it's time to replace. At least it will only be one side. I just need to find a Berco dealer close to northwest alabama to get my parts.
