350 John Deere trim dozer
350 John Deere trim dozer
there is an ad in our local area for a 350 Trim dozer. What is a "trim" dozer? Thanks
Re: 350 John Deere trim dozer
All smaller dozers which are primarily used for finer work around buildings or highway ditching, etc. Generally, they have a smaller footprint, and a lower center of gravity. "Trim" definition is common Canadian jargon. jmf.boler76 wrote:there is an ad in our local area for a 350 Trim dozer. What is a "trim" dozer? Thanks
I asked for couple of a trim dozers on a golf course in Arizona once they brought me 2 CAT D4HXLs that ARE NOT trim dozers but they did have pyramid pads and extra long tracks. As we were in sand as far as the eye could see so we used them but yes it is a Canadian and Eastern term for a smaller 6 way dozer.Digitup,
Here in my little part of the world they are called mostly "Finish" dozers however the name "Trim" is also used. They are also known as "landscape" dozers.
I would have loved to see those D4s on the golf course. I bet that was awesome! I don't suppose you "Teed" off on one of them did you?
They wouldn't even fit in the parking lot at our little course!

Well if you ever get to doze on a golf course just remember leave nothing flat and level so rolling and hilly is the order. So a long wide tracked over sized Dozer was not in the plans let alone two of them .We pushed the sand hills up with the 4s and they sent a D3CIII to do trim up as per usual down there the D3 had no cab [natural air conditioning ]so we took turns trimming up what we just couldn't do on the big ones It was an adventure for two Canadian red necks .I lost weight just thinking about work it was so damned hot .Digitup.
I can't imagine running an open station machine in Arizona!... in that heat! It gets hot and humid here in Missouri, we start looking for frost when it gets down to about 90F. But nothing compares to the heat of that desert! The heat from the machine would be bad enough! Glad to hear you survived the ordeal!
