Interchangeable parts?
Interchangeable parts?
I have a 350 with a 6 way blade, the blade and C frame are wore out? does anyone know if the blade and frame off a 450 will work on a 350? Also will the hood and ROPS interchange?
Thanks for any information

Blade Repair
So what exactly wrong with your dozer?
Parts are hard to come by. We fix every 6 way dozer machine we get in no matter what condition it is in.

Re: Blade Repair
Im missing the hood and ROPS would be nice to have. I can fix the C frame for the blade but i thought it would be worth looking into finding a used C frame in better shape than the one I have. Whoever owned this machine before me was no mechanic and definitely not a welder lol the C frame has been cobbed together with everything short of J B weld.JWB Contracting wrote:So what exactly wrong with your dozer?

350 C-Frames
The c-frame is a week point on the 350's so it will be very difficult to find one that has not been dammage and fixed.
If you can weld or have a buddy that can do it cheaply, remove the c-frame, dissassemble and start welding. I believe there are some areas that come factory plated. I would personally remove these and apply a larger pieces to cover more area. You could also cut some plate to match up to the existing factory plating. The bottom and inside are yoru best areas to add some strength as these will not interfer with the operation of the dozer.
We did about 6 hours of repair on the c-frame of last 350C that we fixed up (started as a reverser rebuild). It does take time to remove old plating, grind out the cracked welds, weld, grind the welds flat, fit and cut new plating material and then weld the plate on. We thought that it was worth fixing it up properly as we might take this one out to the job site (case hoe mounted) and would not want it to fall apart on us or the potential new owner should we decide to part with it.
Also start with some good plating material such as T1-steel. It is not cheap but if you are going to spend the time to weld it on the extra cost is not significant. We have had problems in the past getting the proper thickness of T1 and had to buy a half sheet of 3/4" last time and only need an 2 18" x 6" plates.[/code]
