350D Reverser remove and rebuild

Post by stu » Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:59 am

I am attempting to remove the reverser
I have removed the engine but am having difficulty with removing reverser. Have removed all cap screws, & expected reverser to slide out like engine. The coupling between trans & reverser should just slide off?
What am I missing. can send pics or may post
Do I need to remove transmission at same time?

Got the reverser out, missed 2 cap screws.
Noticed some contaminated oil/water in the housing area between the trans and reverser, this area should have been dry?
Where the female coupling joins the 2.

Where were the two cap screws?
I am getting ready to do the same thing as soon as my hands recover from the viral arthritis attach I have going on now. Usually lasts about six weeks, and I am in week four, so I will be taking it on in next two weeks, and could benefit from your trail breaking.
Pictures are fun.

There are two bolts coming through the left side frame that are hidden by the Lift bracket that your lift cylinders anchor to. These are 5/8" bolts with 15/16" heads on them and a box end wrench is the only way I know to get them out short of removing the lift bracket. A real Pain!!! ( Left side frame as you sit in the seat. ) There are also two 3/4" bolts that come up through the rear of the center cross member on the back side. They are also hard to see and are not easily removed.
