450 fuel burn rate
A friend is planning on renting a 450 to build a motorcross track. He asked me how much fuel it would burn in 8 hrs with moderate shoving. Doesn't know which model but I would expect something more recent as it is a rental machine. I told him I knew where I could find out....

Friend got 2.5 gph. He built the track for his brother (and himself) on their dad's place. He really appreciated the info so he had an idea how much fuel to take as he didn't have a tank in his pickup and didn't want to buy fuel up there. Bought off road from the company he works for, so he figures he saved quite a bit. Thanks again.

Was it a H or a J series with the newer J series you can throttle back 3/4 on the long runs and save considerable fuel .When I started moving dirt the last thing to worry about was fuel cost now wow !!I still have my my old fuel tank for the back of the pickup and when I built it 80 bucks filled it now 580 will fill it but I am not making the 6x the fuel $ .Digitup.
