track tension springs broken on a 350B
track tension springs broken on a 350B
I have broken springs on both sides, outers for sure, inners maybe. Should all be replaced at the same time? It would make sense to me to do so, but I don't want to have the extra expense parts wise if not needed. I've never done this before, it doesn't look too tricky at all according to my manual, just a little dangerous. I don't have a big press availiable to compress the springs. Any advice is greatly appreciated, after having my fingers for 58 years, I want to keep it that way . Also, where to get them, Lavoy, JD, or after market? Thanks

Hi
There are several places to buy aftermarket spring assemblies, check with Lavoy first.. I dont even know if you can by just the spring any more.I would strongly recommend against trying to compress the springs and messing around with the nuts and so forth. The new springs are assembled and preset to the proper length so all you have to do is install them.
