brake band adjustment 350B

put new brake bands on, did the adjustments to clutch and brakes per the manual. All seemed to work fine, loaded machine on trailer, got to the field, unloaded it. Now she goes forward and steers fine in forward, but put into reverse and feels like brakes are applied and she barely wants to move in reverse. I loosened band 1/2 turn but now steering in forward doesn't really work well, although reverse movement is better. What could I have done wrong?
