jd450b crawler loader clutch housing removal

Post by gary » Sat Dec 08, 2012 1:23 pm

I have a 1973 jd450b crawler loader. I have the engine out on a stand for a rebuild and I want take the clutch housing off to put a new pump seal, bearing, rear seal in. I was hoping someone out there who has done this could walk me though getting it off and save me any unnessesary work. What do you have to remove to get at the oil line that goes through the clutch housing to the pump off? How did you support the housing it looks like it weighs a lot? Do I need to any special tools? Does the housing have to come all the way out to get at that seal. Does the clutch and brake peddles have to be taken off? Thanks,Gary
