I finally got it running again. Didnt have time to go out and play with it yet but maybe in the next couple days. Everything seems to be running fine other than when idling, once in a while the rpms will speed up just for a second or two. Not sure if I just never payed attention to this before or if this is a sing of something else that needs attention. Now that its running, should I crack each injector line with the engine running to help bleed air one final time?

I would say that you probably still have a bubble of air. That will cause your RPM to fluctuate slightly. It may even work it's way on through after you take it and run it for a while. It wouldn't hurt to crack the lines at the injector just to see if you get a little dab of air. Glad to hear she is up and running again! :D

Paul Buhler wrote:Since the Diesel engine doesn't use a spark to ignite the fuel, to shut down the engine you have to cut off the fuel supply which is what happens when you bring the fuel lever down. Your machine shut off is functioning as designed.

On a gas machine, turning off the electric switch cuts the electricity to the spark plugs and the engine stops.

Hope this helps. Paul
ok I knew about the gas engine going shut when you turn back the key but from what I read in the previous post I was under the impression he was talikng about a diesel engine .
thank you for the clarification anyway

I must respectfully disagree.
No problem. I'll defer to your explanation - and I learned something too. That's the nice thing about this board, there's room for elaboration and clarification. My memory sometimes gets faulty - I have machines that requires the fuel level be used to shut down even when the switch is turned off. Paul

I can't speak to other models, but my 2010 diesel crawler has a DB injection pump and the key alone will not shut it off- I have to shut off the fuel supply with the throttle to kill the engine.

exactly there is nothing on the pump ( as far as any wiring and or any terminal tha would be used to connect anything) that look likes any electrical hook-up .

thank you all for the info , this forum is simply the best .
