Starting My John Deere 455D Track Loader Dozer
I have not started my 455D since 3 days after New Years Day 2013. We just got 32" of record breaking snow yesterday 2/09/13 in The Northeast Blizzard here in Maine and it was 5 degrees last night. Also, we just got over a record braking cold spell minus 20 degrees here last week. I figured my 455D would be as dead as a road squirrell but I thought I'd try to kick it over anyway. She started right up. So I cleaned my driveway. I had great enjoyment driving thru the deep white stuff. My Driveway is about 300 feet long going out to the private road that only my neighbor and I use. The road is a little over a 1/4 mile long and is steep as you can get. In the summer time 2 wheel drive vehicles have a hard time climbing it. Well, I was just about to plow it with the 455D when I realized that underneath the snow was 2" of ice. I decided that the slide of death wasn't for me. So I live to write this blog. Frank

I used absolutly no ether at all. My proceedure was.....turned the battery switch to on.........give it a little bit of throttle......... turn key to on..............pressed the start button..........And she started right up. I couldn't believe it. Frank
